Gasblender

Welcome to the IDDA’s Gas Blender Course!

Here you will learn how to safely and effectively mix multiple gases together to provide the ideal breathing air for each dive. The course covers the theory and practice of gas blending, including the safety procedures that must be followed to avoid accidental overpressurization and other accidents.

You will learn how to calculate gas mixtures to ensure that the diver always gets enough oxygen and no toxic gas such as nitrogen narcosis or carbon monoxide. This includes understanding terms such as partial pressure and MOD (Maximum Operating Depth), as well as understanding the properties and applications of Nitrox, Trimix and Heliox gas mixtures.

In the course you will also learn about the different types of breathing air analyzers and how to properly use them to check the quality of the breathing air. At the end of the course, you will be required to take an exam to show that you have successfully applied the skills and knowledge you have learned.

We look forward to joining you on your diving adventure.
